Audio post-production encompasses all stages of audio production relating to sound synchronized with video (film, television) or audio (radio, podcast). It involves sound design, sound effects, Foley, ADR, sound editing, audio mixing, mastering etc.
Generally speaking for simple video projects: Embedded AAF or OMF with handles (the longer the better, at least 10s). The soundtrack file should be complete and preferably in WAV or AIFF format. An Answer Print film in MP4 H.264 format is acceptable.
Since the most common commercials cuts are 15, 30 and 45 seconds your wait won’t be long. Anyway, there’s no secret formula but the simpler it is the faster the job will be. Two main factors that take time are sound design and cleaning up poor audio dialogues. Every project is different but if it’s just a post-production task it won’t take too much time.
It’s possible to clean up a bad voice recording and remove background noises. In some cases you get surprising results; other times it’s just a minor improvement that helps intelligibility. It all depends on the quality of the live recording and the location.
If your TV campaign has to be delivered worldwide it’s important to keep in mind that every Country has its own audio specs. Likewise each digital platform has its peculiar audio parameters. This means that a dedicated program mastering is required for any purpose.

It’s always best to work with a composer and have an original soundtrack for your project rather than deal with the headache of licensing other people’s music. Of course, it is entirely possible to get the songs you want, but securing the recording and publishing rights often gets really expensive. You can also relay on music library services but this option will hardly fit like a glove and, last but not least, you’ll probably have to share the music with other brands and projects.
The bark of the dog and the neigh of the horse would be easier but as far as our imagination can go everything is possible.
